Youth

There is a wide variety of youth activities in the parish – the “Youth News” section in the newsletter provides weekly updates. If you would like to receive regular information about the Youth Ministry at St Joseph's, please register your details here. Once we have your (young person's) details, we can send information about relevant Youth and Youth Club activities. Dom Deboo, our Youth Coordinator will make contact directly with you.
Youth Clubs
We currently have youth clubs for young people of a range of ages, offering them a social outlet in the midst of a busy week.

Energise is a place for young people to come, socialise, meet new people and take part in a range of new and exciting activities such as street dance workshops, parachute games, etc. With a pool table, table tennis, Fifa 10, Mario Kart, tuck shop, loud music and a space to play dodgeball/Uni-hoc and indoor football, there is something for everyone. Come along, have fun and meet new people.

It takes place after the 5:30pm Mass and provides a space to chill out, meet new people, have some food and then explore issues relevant to the lives of young people. Young people can use our equipment: X Box, Nintendo Wii, Table Tennis, Pool, etc, have a meal together and then explore topics such as Identity, Alcohol, Relationships and Fair Trade.
Soul Food (Years 10 – 13)

Venue: Youth Office
Membership: £5 per term + 50p weekly subs
When: Tuesdays 7:00pm – 9:00pm
Soul Food is our youth group for young people who want to explore their faith and discover more about themselves, their community and their faith. We have a diverse programme which this term includes a fundraising challenge in support of CAFOD, a workshop exploring the interaction between our faith and the environment as well as a trip to Laser Quest. Included in the package are amazing desserts and refreshments every week.
Youth Management Team
As a form of collaborative ministry, this team seeks to examine the compelling and challenging policies, programmes and ministry initiatives of our Youth Co-ordinator in consultation with the parish priest. They engage the Youth Co-ordinator in a process that determines the priorities and practices that will enable our parish to discern how well our young people are integrated into the life, mission, and work of the Catholic Community.
Youth SVP

Efforts are being made to re-establish the Youth SVP. This organisation for 14-18 year olds is about one-to-one visiting in the community – the elderly and those with learning difficulties – as well as monthly work with the homeless (Mother Teresa’s Sisters). Young people interested in this work should contact the Parish Office.
