Confirmation

Confirmation is a Catholic sacrament of mature Christian commitment which deepens our baptismal gifts.  It brings us the graces of the Holy Spirit that were granted to the Apostles on Pentecost Sunday and is a sacrament of faith in God's fidelity to us.

In our parish, young people in Year 9 or above who want to make a commitment to becoming part of the church are offered a ten week learning programme.  They are taught about some of the central aspects of our faith and have a chance to experience God.  At the end of the programme the young people have the opportunity to go away for a retreat day and enjoy a Last Supper experience before making their Confirmation.

Programme registration opens in June each year and closes in September – when the first meeting for the programme is held.  The ten training sessions run from January to May.  A registration fee is required to join the programme as well as receipt of a baptismal certificate.
